Everything is falling into place
Nintendo of Japan has announced that Tetris 99 will be receiving its second bit of offline DLC sometime this year. In a post on the official website, mention was made that the “Big Block” DLC pack will be getting updated to include more offline modes later this year. Launched a few months back for $9.99, the first pack brought the option for Marathon mode and an offline variation on the 99 player battles seen online.
As for what the second bit of DLC will bring, it seems to be related to offline versus. Whether that means a split-screen version of the battle royale experience or simply a local ad-hoc option is currently unknown, but you really can’t complain about the price tag. That a single $10 purchase gets you a fully featured Tetris game with a unique online twist is pretty great, even if some people will be content with simply the free, online experience.
