Everyone’s entitled to one good scare
It’s the spoopiest day of the calendar year: October 31, Halloween. On this day, for generations, people have come together specifically to celebrate the 1978 release of John Carpenter’s independently-produced movie about a man with a knife and a repainted William Shatner mask. This is been achieved through creepy decor, carved Jack O’Lanterns, Fortnite costumes and candy that has never ever had needles or drugs hidden inside it.
But for many video game fans, the day is celebrated through indulging in some of their favourite horror-based video games. Whether through a myriad of jump-scare-tastic PC releases, the legendary haunted houses of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, or the weirdly charming terror of titles such as The Gregory Horror Show, Luigi’s Mansion 3, and Little Nightmares, there have been an abundance of games that go bump in the night, ready and waiting to give you the willies. (Stop laughing at the back.)
So share with us below what games, if any, you plan to enjoy this Halloween night. Are you trying out something new, or maybe retreading the creaky floorboards of an old classic? Will you be getting into the full spirit of things with food and decorations and friends, or just hunkering down, alone in the dark? Whatever you’re up to this evening, have fun, stay safe and remember, the calls are always COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE.
Happy Halloween!
