Monster Hunter World: Iceborne‘s monster list is slowly coming into focus, with Nargacuga, Tigrex, and Beotodus all making appearances. This week, Capcom showed off another returning favorite for the expansion: Barioth. We got our first look at the tornado-slinging beast in footage from Game Informer.
Apart from a side-by-side comparison with the older creature model (that new fur!), the video also demonstrates a turf war in which Barioth wastes no time sinking its teeth into an unlucky Banbaro.
I look forward to facing the big-tusk boy in Iceborne on September 5. When the expansion was first announced, I wasn’t completely sold on the frosty region, but the more I see, the more it clicks. Themed locales like this can sometimes feel one-note, but Capcom seems to be making the most of it.
