Rock out with… well, you know
Namco Bandai’s vampiric RPG Code Vein has been on the burner for quite some time now, but is edging nearer to the home stretch and its September release date. This week at Anime Expo, the publisher released the opening cinematic for the ultra-dramatic looking adventure game.
Created by animation studio Ufotable, the cinematic consists of a short narrative opening, giving us a look at the grim, dangerous, dystopian world in which our blood-loving protagonists reside, followed by a shamelessly metal music video filled with intense visuals, dramatic showdowns and tears. Lots and lots of tears.
Also revealed (and apparently sold out) at the same press event was a limited edition of Code Vein for die-hard fans. The “Revenant Bundle” includes a copy of the game with metal casing, a digital soundtrack and art book, along with a figurine of one of the game’s protagonists, Mia Karnstein. The set seemingly came and went in the blink of an eye, but there is a “waiting list” option available over at the Namco Bandai store.
Code Vein launches September 24 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
