Boosting in more ways than one
Activision’s PS1 remake Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is already running victory laps on multiple platforms, having been received positively by critics and fans. However, the classic kart racer is still suffering from some niggling issues, with a new patch hoping to iron out these creases.
First and foremost, the Nintendo Switch 1.05 update will be confronting the ongoing woes with Nitro-Fueled’s sluggish load times. Utilising the Switch hardware’s boost mode (which temporarily overclocks the console’s CPU) the new update should hopefully allow budding racers to get on the starting grid a whole lot faster.
Across all platforms, the new update will also improve various elements of online play, including stability, lobby population and the frequency of random course selection. Various recent exploits, pertaining to power-up cooldowns and lap manipulation, will also be stamped out, hopefully eradicating some mid-race shenanigans.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is available now on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
