Next month sees the Japanese release of Persona 5 Royal, an updated edition of the hugely-successful 2016 RPG. Alongside a new semester, new confidants, new wardrobes, and even a whole new character, P5R will also be adding a selection of new and classic persona to your Pokedex persona checklist.

To whet fans appetites, publisher Atlus has released a shot at one of the returning persona, Fafnir. A series veteran to the Shin Megami Tensei series, Fafnir has not been seen in the Persona spin-off series since 1999’s Persona 2: Innocent Sin. In classic Norse mythology, Fafnir was the son of dwarf king Hreidmar. Fafnir was affected by a curse that turned him into a dragon (hence his serpentine appearance in game) and was slain in a battle with Siegfried.

Persona 5 Royal launches on PS4 in Japan October 31, before heading west in spring 2020.
