Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

Hangin’ backstage with the gals

For many, the ongoing lockdown/isolation legislation as provided the opportunity to take a huge chunk out of the ol’ backlog. Whether TV, movies, comics, or games, people are (wisely) staying indoors and finally delving into the products they bought at full-price on launch and are now in the Steam sale for four bucks. It’s a good way to spend the time. Offers a little escapism and keeps you out of harm’s way.

But it’s just not happening for me. Part of it’s the old broken brain. Also, I miss my friends. Also, I’m still working hard because I really fucking care about Destructoid. But, for these and other reasons, I just don’t seem to be hammering games at what feels like the prime opportunity to do so. It is what it is. This week, I got acquainted with the Imperial Combat Revue in Sega’s long-awaited Sakura Wars – which you’ll be hearing more about soon. As a game and a franchise, it’s a little outside my sphere of reference. But that’s the point. Sometimes you have to step away from your comfort zone in order to get your mojo kickstarted, ya dig?

But let’s hear from you. I hope you’re all keeping safe and well, and that you’ve been finding the time to get better acquainted with your video game collections. I’m sure many of you are still wrapped up in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, while others are holding back “The Feels” (shudder) whilst exploring Midgar in Final Fantasy VII Remake. But whatever you’re up to, take a few seconds to fill us in on the action below. We always enjoy hearing what’s going on in your neck of the woods.

Have a safe and restful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
