Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s PC specs have a wealth of options

No 30 series requirements yet

Two options. That’s all developers usually key us into before a big game’s launch on PC. The minimum requirements and the recommended requirements. There’s always a ton of middle ground. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, we get three.

Ubisoft has gone above and beyond with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s PC specs. We get six performance targets ranging from “Okay, this thing actually runs” to “Holy shit that’s pretty.” Here’s a handy chart, but I’ll type them all out too.

With six preset options, it’s less a question of whether your PC can run it (hopefully, anyway), and more a question of which performance targets can it hit. Ubisoft also confirms some additional PC options like uncapped frame rate, hybrid input, multi-monitor and widescreen support, benchmarking tools, and further customization.

It’s also sort of interesting that we’re to the point of everyone recommending an SSD. That’s almost certainly so that the PC version doesn’t lag far behind the next-gen console versions. If PS5 and Xbox Series X load within seconds off of an SSD and PC takes like a minute to load off of an HDD, that makes the PC version look considerably underpowered. That’s on you and your spinning drives, though.

Alongside the PC specs, Ubisoft dropped 11 new screenshots for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Check them out in the gallery below. I’m definitely digging the aesthetic of this game.
