We’re not sure why this story is blowing up this week, but since it’s all the rage, we’ll go ahead and report it, too: Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS will feature Wi-fi support.
The information comes from Rockstar’s official GTA: Chinatown Wars page which prominently displays the Nintendo Wi-Fi logo, but gives no information as to what they actually will mean. While we’re at it, we might as well report that the game is coming this Winter, it has not yet been rated by the ESRB, and that it’s exclusively for the Nintendo DS. Also, there’s some kind of war in Chinatown.
This should be exciting news for those of us who missed out on the game’s announcement at E3 two weeks ago, when the official Web site went live and hasn’t changed since. I think Hamza put it best when he wrote:
The only other facts we have at this point is that the game will utilize the DS touch screen and will have WiFi support.
And hey, that’s still the case, two weeks later. Word on the street is that we may hear, see, and possibly play the game around PAX-time in late-August. Oh, did we mention that the game might also support Wi-fi?
