Robbie & Purah are the main events
Hey, remember that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity DLC expansion pass? Well it’s still happening!
So as a reminder, this is the “second wave” of content for the expansion pass, titled “Guardian of Remembrance.” It comes with new story bits (Battle for Kakariko Village, Battle of Goponga Village), more stages (including the memorable Coliseum), the package deal of Robbie & Purah, “one more” character, and additional actions for existing cast members. In other words, this is a pretty huge DLC, and is actually more substantial than the first round of Age of Calamity DLC.
So what’s one more thing that would wrap this game up in a really neat little Game of the Year/Complete edition bow? An optimization update and a framerate enhancement. Although I really dug Age of Calamity and some of the wacky twists and turns with the narrative, I think it would be much more palatable as a whole to a general audience if the framerate didn’t dip to…calamitous levels at points.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen “I would check this game out…but the framerate.” I mean, that phrase could apply to any number of Omega Force/Koei Tecmo brawlers, but let’s keep things on track here! Maybe it’ll eventually arrive on whatever next iteration of console hardware Nintendo is cooking up: these sorts of games are fairly timeless.
Going back to the Age of Calamity DLC, here’s a trailer from the Koei Tecmo Japanese YouTube, as the US branch and Nintendo as a whole haven’t provided one at the time of publication.
