I don’t wear ties
Morning folkerinos, and welcome to Whatcha Been Playing? Thanks for taking the time to stop in with our own weekly little weekly Cirque de Puree. I hope that the past seven days have been very kind to you and those around you, and that you are able to find some moments of pleasure within this weekend. I know that all y’all deserve a good time, so make it happen with whatever spare hours you find for yourself.
You think I’m writing this from my brand new abode? Unfortunately not, for there are still curtains to be ironed, chairs to be built and pipes to be installed. Oh, also, I set off an intruder alarm that I had been told was ‘decommissioned’ so that was not embarrassing and frustrating one bit. Hi, I’m the new guy, neighborhood. Today, I have some drain work to do. I’m not a plumber, but I’ve played a lot of Mario Bros. games so I’m pretty sure I know what I’m doing. See you on the other side… soaking wet, probably.
Memories of Madness
Inspired by our own CJ Andriessen, who is currently embarking upon the Batman: Arkham trilogy for the first time, yer boy went ahead and installed The Dark Knight’s adventures himself. This is despite having 100%’d all three titles on no less than two-to-three occasions each. Not to mention the hundreds of hours spent honing my beatdown skills in the Riddler Challenges.
The simple fact of the matter is that this trilogy consists of three marvelous releases, and is a franchise that deserves to be held in the same regard that we hold Metal Gear Solid, Half-Life, and Grand Theft Auto. The Batman: Arkham trilogy sport beautifully designed, deeply immersive, creatively fulfilling, and narratively authentic representations of The Batman’s fascinating world. And that’s why I’m gonna run them, over and again, until I can run them no more.
Mayday Mayhem
So, before I return to the world of Duh Bat, I wish you all a very happy weekend. Of course, we can’t get Saturday started until we’ve heard from you, dear community member. It’s the first weekend of a new month, and I hope that you’re starting yours with a bang. Abseil down into the comments below and share with your fellow community members Whatcha Been Playing? It’s definitely 2022’s quietest release month to date, so it’s a fine opportunity to get some of Q1’s gems under your belt. Whatever you’re currently engaged with, tell us all about it, friends!
Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
