Tough times for bad guys
It’d be hard enough committing misdeeds in the grim ‘berg of Gotham City just knowing that one masked vigilante was on your tail… but four? This might be the fate that awaits the rogues’ gallery of Warner Bros. Montreal adventure Gotham Knights, currently in development for PC and consoles.
While it has been common knowledge that the Batman: Arkham spin-off would feature co-op support for two players, a recent update to the PlayStation Store listing for the title now suggests that the open-world title may, in fact, support four-player multiplayer. Such a mode would see Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and The Red Hood take to the mean streets as a quartet, dishing out fistfuls of meaty vengeance.
Evildoers beware.
Of course, there has been no official word from developer WB Montreal as to whether Gotham Knights will indeed support four-player co-op. Additionally, the four-player co-op, should such a feature exist, might just be specifically tied to certain modes, rather than the main campaign itself. Finally, and more disappointingly, this might be a mere mistake on PlayStation’s part. For now, we’ll just have to stay tuned to this Bat-Time and Bat-Channel.
Gotham Knights is currently in development for PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms with a tentative release date of 2022. Over at Rocksteady Studios, work continues on the repeatedly delayed multiplayer epic Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is currently expected to release in 2023.
