THQ has announced today that they’ll be offering a Collector’s Edition version of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 at retail … exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
The special bundle will feature exclusive content on the Blu-ray disc, including a behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the game, as well as more than two hours of WWE footage. The game comes packaged in a “steel cage” box in North America, while Europe and Asia Pacific gets a miniature ring box.
This is not the first time that THQ has only offered the special edition for a Sony system, and I’m not sure why. But I’m going to find out, and when I find out, I’m going to write a story about it. Unless it’s “off the record.” In that case, I’ll post a gallery of puppies dressed like wrestlers instead; that’s how you’ll know.
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 hits retail on everything that plays games on November 9.
[Update: THQ was kind enough to send over some images of the Collector’s Edition hotness. Added in the gallery.]
