Here’s a Sunbreak roadmap for what’s to come
After much fanfare, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is finally out today on June 30, and there’s more stuff on the way: including Sunbreak free title updates.
Here’s what the team has planned for 2022 and beyond:
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Free Title Update 1 (August)
- Seething Bazelgeuse
- Lucent Nargacuga (and “several other monsters”)
- New locale: Forlorn area
- Rare species monsters
- Special species monsters
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Free Title Update 2 (Fall)
- Rare species monsters
- Subspecies monsters
- Powered-up monsters
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Free Title Update 3 (Winter)
- Special species monsters
- Powered-up monsters
More “free title updates” (the “s” is key here) are planned for 2023.
So far, Capcom has been teasing individual aspects of each update via livestreams: including their own planned events and the co-opting of Nintendo showcases. If you’re a hardcore Monster Hunter fan, you’ll be able to glean all sorts of drip-fed info in the weeks to come, as the team slowly unveils more bits and pieces with each subsequent update.
We’ll likely see content expansion into 2023 as Capcom tries to increase the sales of Sunbreak and possibly break their internal top 10 all-time seller list, and we could see a new Monster Hunter reveal next year.
