Art Attack Friday: Maximo V. Lorenzo

Recommended Videos

We’re back with another Art Attack Friday. Today, Hamza has handed me the reigns to AAF, so I’d like to take the time to talk about a great artist I know.

With a badass name like Maximo V. Lorenzo, you’d almost have to be some kind of artist, right? He’s as badass as his name is, currently working as a comic artist. He draws from both eastern and western influences to create his own unique style, which was used in last year’s Bombos vs. Everything. He just finished work contributing to Tokyopop’s Ghostbusters: Ghost Busted, which is hitting bookstores now.

Those that frequent Destructoid may recognize Maximo’s art and name, as he’s the artist that does the EP covers for the Bad Dudes, a musical group that I’m a member of. His work on the Thai Guy and No Balls, No Glory EPs are amazing, but wait until you see what he’s working on for the Bad Dudes’ first CD release, coming in November.

If you’d like to check out more of Maximo’s art, hit up his Web page, 8BITMAXIMO. His deviantART gallery is also filled with great works, ranging from originals to game pieces, like the fantastic work-in-progress “The Subspace Emissary” found after the jump.
