Frenetic blasting action gets minor pushback
Publisher MAGES has announced that the upcoming double pack of Tachyon shmups Bullet Soul and sequel Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst has been hit with a small delay and will now launch on Nintendo Switch September 29, a little over a fortnight later than its initially stated launch of September 9.
Originally released on Xbox 360 in 2011 and 2014, the Bullet Soul titles espouse the frantic bullet hell action, pulse-pounding soundtrack, and goofy anime aesthetics that are so embedded in the modern shmup market. Several notable industry veterans were involved in the game’s development, with music provided by composers Kenji Ito (Romancing SaGa) and Kohata Takahashi (Ridge Racer) and colorful character art daubed by Monogatari‘s Akio Watanabe
Available on PC since 2017, the new Nintendo Switch port of the two titles will be the Bullet Soul series’ first international console release. In Japan, the Bullet Soul Double Pack will also receive a physical edition, which comes complete with an art book and soundtrack CD. Unfortunately, there are currently no plans to bring this edition of the game to western shores.
Bullet Soul and Bullet Soul: Infinite Burst will launch digitally on Nintendo Switch September 29.
