Some people would have a problem with buying a game twice, but when Persona 3: FES was released, I had no problem shelling out money for the expansion that included a copy of the original game — it was $30, and to me that was worth it for the new content I was going to get.
If you’re thinking Atlus might do the same with Persona 4, I’m afraid I am going to have to burst your bubble — Tim Pivnicny, Atlus Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the game’s upcoming release today, clarifying that there will be no expansion:
“We are today able to announce that at no point in the future will we announce the release of a “FES” version of Persona 4 …the very finest, most definitive version of Persona 4 will be the one released on December 9, 2008.”
Good news, as I know some Atlus fans were less than pleased they had to buy FES to get the full story. I guess I’m ok with being consumer raped when it comes to Persona, which doesn’t say much good about me … but at any rate, thanks Atlus!
