No Doubt.
Konami could be gearing up “no pun intended” to make a new announcement concerning the Metal Gear franchise — At least that’s what was allegedly inferred in a recent tweet from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance voice actor Quinton Flynn.
Flynn, who voices the divisive (I personally like the kid) protagonist Raiden, made the cryptic comment in response to a fan on his Twitter. Following a post in which Flynn advertised a new Cameo page, follower zxSOLIDxSNAKEzx casually commented “Perhaps a Metal Gear Rising 2 along with the rest of the upcoming Metal Gear showcase might just make it?”
“Stayed tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks” responded Flynn, complete with winky face.

Now, of course, it should be made clear that Flynn might simply be referring to a personal project that he has in mind, rather than a brand new game, remaster, or remake. But with the 10th anniversary of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance approaching, as well as ongoing rumors that something “Metal Gear Remake”-related might be in the works at Konami, it’s all the faithful fan community needs to hear to get their hype engines up and running.
Rising: Revengeance launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in February 2013, and sees MGS 2 hero Raiden indulging in a spot of incredibly violent hack ‘n’ slash action. Developed by PlatinumGames, the spin-off adventure features all of the highly adrenalized and chaotic combat one would expect from the studio, and is frequently cited as one of the unsung classics of Hideo Kojima’s defining franchise.
Is a remake reveal incoming? Or have we all gotten the wrong end of the sword? Time will tell.
