Look like you solemnly swear you’re up to no good
Hogwarts Legacy promised to let players customize their characters, and they delivered. Even beyond the initial setup, where you choose everything from your face to your voice, there are plenty of opportunities to be your best witch or wizard self. Collecting gear is part of the game. Once you realize that you can keep the gear and customize the appearance, the game feels amazing. Guess what? You can even raise your cloak hood!
First, make your way to the Gear menu. Obviously, you have to be wearing a cloak in order to raise its hood. A standard cloak comes with your intro into your House. After that, you may come across cloaks in chests throughout Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Different appearances can be gained through side quests. The green cloak my character is wearing comes from the Venemous Valor side quest.
Once you have your cloak, linger your cursor over the “Cloaks and Robes” section. At the bottom of the pop-up menu, you will see options to “Change Appearance” and “Hood On/Off.”
Having your hood up (“On”) doesn’t do anything for you other than maybe making you feel cool. It definitely lends a darker look, even if you’re wearing a bright green contraption like me. It’s just another way to add a little personality to your wizarding experience.
Playing dress-up is half the fun for me in this game. Even your wand is yours to customize in amazing detail, allowing you to choose the best wand for you. Then you can feel your best as you take on adventures, such as the Well Well Well quest.
