DS demand at GameStop forces reservation program

Recommended Videos

People still want a DS for Christmas. I honestly don’t know anyone who wanted one who doesn’t have one yet. I have this sister-in-law that has one she’s only used once. My mother has one and rocks it. I think she’s on her second. But, apparently, there are still plenty out there who have a Nintendo DS on their Christmas list this year, and GameStop is having to sort out the high demand.

According to Gamasutra, the new DS colors — metallic rose, cobalt, and crimson — are in high demand, much like the Wii was last year. Because of this, they’ve switched to a reservation-only format. Customers can go in to reserve one of these systems, but GameStop cannot promise delivery before Christmas day. Projected dates are between December 28th and January 25th for most.

Reservation requires the full payment of $129; customers will receive a GameStop gift card along with their reservation.
