Somewhere over the rainbow
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is back with yet another limited-time holiday event for players to check out. In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, there is a short new event happening on all battle royale maps. If you play your cards right, you could end up with the Shillelagh one-shot Victus XMR sniper rifle blueprint.
What’s at the end of the rainbow in Warzone 2.0?
In each match of battle royale, players can see a massive rainbow that now appears over both Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. This rainbow signifies the classic St. Paddy’s Day celebration and will only stick around for a limited time.
There may not be a pot of gold awaiting players at the end of the rainbow but there is something possibly even better. If you are able to reach the end of the rainbow in a match, you’ll find a massive stack of gold bars for Call of Duty’s own take on the legend.
In addition to that, if players reach the end of the rainbow and interact with the gold bars first, they will receive a unique weapon. This is a special weapon blueprint for the Victus XMR that is known as the Shillelagh one-shot sniper rifle blueprint.
The tricky part about obtaining the one-shot sniper rifle in Warzone 2.0 is that there is only one per match of battle royale. If someone beats you there, too bad. The only other way to get one would be to eliminate the player who has it currently.
Then you can take it off of them and use it yourself. You may want to do this, too, since the Victus XMR one-shot sniper rifle is the best weapon in its entire class by a long shot.
The Shillelagh one-shot sniper rifle, explained
Normally, no sniper rifle is able to one-shot a foe outside of headshots or some upper-body hits. However, this green and gold Shillelagh weapon blueprint for the Victus XMR changes all of that. It is the most powerful sniper rifle in the battle royale game, capable of one-hit KO’ing anyone, anywhere.
It doesn’t matter if you hit them in the stomach, arm, leg, or even foot; the single bullet will instantly eliminate them. That makes it extremely valuable for any sniper fans out there. Since there is only one per match, there are a couple of ways to better guarantee obtaining the rifle.
For starters, I highly suggest playing Resurgence Solos on Ashika Island. This limits the number of players and ensures you have less competition to fight over the weapon. Alternatively, you could play DMZ as there are far fewer players in this mode.
The only problem with DMZ is that the unique Shillelagh sniper generally spawns in the middle of NPC enemies so you’ll have to be extra careful to acquire it. Unfortunately, even if you acquire the special holiday Shillelagh one-shot Victus XMR, you won’t be able to keep it permanently.
This is an event-exclusive weapon that you can’t add to your loadout in Warzone 2.0. This even includes if you are able to get it in DMZ and extract while still holding the weapon. Instead, we recommend looking at our best best weapon loadouts if you want the best sniper around.
