This Capcom horror game has all manner of beasts to eliminate from the huge El Gigante and Garrador, but with the Resident Evil 4 Pest Control side quest, you’ll need to take down the pesky rats that infest specific areas of the game.

In the Abandoned Factory, there are three rats to find for the Pest Control side mission. Here are each of their locations.

There are three different spots to find rats in the Abandoned Factory.

From the broken dangling light, go down the hallway. At the end of it, you’ll see a rat scurrying around the rocks and puddle. Don’t waste your pistol ammo, however. They are very fast, so using the shotgun you picked up from the village is the best option. It spreads a wider shot, making it easier to shoot them; select the shotgun by pressing right on the D-Pad. One rat is now down.

The next two rats are in the bigger corridor, where you see a rusted-up carrier with coal stacked inside. You should see a rat around your feet encircling you. Once that rat is taken out, continue down the room. You’ll find the last rat nearby the unused furnace and a wall of brown sandbags.

How to redeem the award for the side quest

To redeem any rewards for side quests picked up around the Spanish village, you’ll want to report to The Merchant.

He’ll give you three Spinels, which can be used under the “Trade” section of the store. The rewards include a Treasure Map, the Punisher pistol, and a Laser Sight attachment. There are more Resident Evil 4 Pest Control missions as you proceed through the game, so watch out.
