Become more efficient on the battlefield
One of the latest features in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 allows players to become more efficient and resourceful in the middle of battle royale matches. The Warzone 2.0 Tempered Plate Carrier is a new item that might be familiar to original Warzone players.
Warzone 2.0 Tempered Plate Vest, explained
The Warzone 2.0 Tempered Plate Carrier is a type of vest that the player can optionally wear in the middle of battle royale matches. Introduced in Season 3, this item was originally featured in the first Warzone.
The carrier replaces the existing armor vest you have on. It acts like a Tier 3 armor vest, giving you the full three segments-worth of armor. However, instead of dividing the armor up between those typical three segments, they are split into two larger ones.
The purpose behind this change is two-fold. Firstly, it is there to let players reduce the number of armored plates they need to use. Instead of a single armor plate filling up one of the three armor segments, with the Tempered Plate Vest, you’ll fill up one of only two segments.
This is quite impressive, as it ties into the item’s secondary effect. In addition to reducing the number of armored plates you’ll need, it also reduces the time it takes to heal up. Since you only need two plates with this vest, you can get back to full armor in a significantly shorter period of time. That is, of course, if you own a Tempered Plate Carrier.
How to get a Tempered Plate Carrier
To get a Tempered Plate Carrier in Warzone 2.0, you have to use one of two main methods. The first of these is to simply search everywhere on either the Al Mazrah or Ashika Island battle royale maps. Containers, chests, and lockers all have a random chance of dropping one of these vests.
However, the problem with this is that the Tempered Plate Carrier is a legendary-level item. Your chances of finding it this way are quite slim. Thankfully, there is a way to ensure you’ll get a Tempered Plate Carrier in every single match of battle royale you’re in.
To do this, you’ll need to capture one of the Strongholds on the map, marked by their white gate icon. Partway through the game, the locked Strongholds will open up with some of the strongest challenges in the entire lobby. The toughest NPCs are there, in addition to other players.
Usually your objective for capturing a Stronghold is to take out all of the enemies in the building or defuse a bomb. Once you complete this objective and secure the Stronghold, you’ll receive a Tempered Plate Carrier, among other amazing items. Just watch out, though, as other teams will vie for the few Strongholds in the match.
