The free battle pass in MW2 offers 20 free items across 21 different Combat Sectors. Each sector has a main item of interest, known as the High-Value Target (HVT), along with up to five additional items to unlock. To obtain these items, players need to use Battle Token Tier Skips. Players can earn up to 100 Battle Token Tier Skips throughout a season, but it’s important to note that these tokens must be used within the same season. If players fail to use their earned tokens by the end of the season, they will be automatically spent, rendering all their efforts in vain. It is, therefore, crucial for players to utilize their tokens before the season concludes.
Players must unlock up to four items in each sector before the HVT becomes available. Once the HVT is unlocked, the sector is considered complete, and players can move on to the next one. To quickly earn Battle Token Tier Skips, players can purchase the battle pass bundle from the store to obtain an instant 20 Battle Token Tier Skips (25 on PlayStation). Another method is to play Warzone 2 and complete missions in DMZ mode.
In addition, anything that earns players a substantial amount of XP will also reward them with Battle Token Tier Skips. Once a certain XP threshold is reached, a new token will be awarded. While the paid method offers more rewards, the free battle pass still provides a significant number of items that can be obtained with some grind and strategic use of the Battle Token Tier Skips.
