Look and feel good in stormy weather
When it comes to the many armor sets in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, few are as stylish and functional as the Charged Armor set. This particular set is all about making the best out of a bad situation, in this case being the lightning storms that occasionally happen in Hyrule.
The Charged Armor boosts your overall attack power while you are in thunderstorms. This makes up for the unfortunate circumstances in which you usually have to remove all your powerful metal equipment to avoid a lightning strike.
How to get the Charged Armor set in Tears of the Kingdom
If you want to get the Charged Armor set for yourself in Tears of the Kingdom, there’s, sadly, quite a lot you’ll have to do in the game. While the armor itself is quite easy to get once you know where to look, there are some heavy prerequisites you must meet first.
Before I continue, I should note that you get this armor set in the main story of Tears of the Kingdom, so there are some spoilers abound; you’ve been warned. To unlock the quest to get this armor, you must first complete the entire Regional Phenomena quest.
This involves heading to the four main regions of Hyrule, doing the four core dungeons, and fixing all of their issues there. Once you do this, return to Purah and she will tell you to go to Hyrule Castle. Do this quest and then head back to Purah to be sent to Kakariko Village.
Your goal now is to talk with Paya, the new leader of the town, and learn about the Ring Ruins. If you try to speak with her before completing the requirements, she won’t give you the necessary quest. To investigate the Ring Ruins, you’ll need to climb up on a ridge where you can Ascend directly into the ruins.
Take a photo of the mural inside and then return to Paya and Tauro to receive the next objective.
Where to find all armor pieces
Now it is time finally time to get the Charged Armor set. Head to the Faron region to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and speak with the NPC camped outside the tower. He will direct you to Dracozu Lake where you’ll find Tauro again in a small ruins area on the eastern side of the lake.
Speak with Tauro and he will talk about a treasure chest near you. Go past him and up to open a chest to find the Charged Shirt. This is the first of the three armor pieces in this set.
For the second one, continue along the river south until you reach (1012, -2681, 0007). Across the way from you is another ruins, which you’ll need to destroy the entrance to. Inside, you’ll find the Charged Trousers.
Finally, continue along the river once again until you reach around (0971, -2777, 0007). There will be a glowing ruins entrance just across from you. Destroy the vines covering the entrance and head inside to find a chest with the Charged Headdress.
