Yesterday, IGN posted a story about a Wii game that was pitched by developer n-space back in 2007. The game is called Winter, and it never found a publisher. Twenty Four hours after this news hits the internet and you have both a petition begging for us to support the game’s publication and tons of gaming sites backing said petition 100%. Not one, but two of our community members have posted their own heartfelt blogs on the topic as well.
After watching the video, I can see why some are already so gung-ho to see this game published. Not since Resident Evil Zero have I seen so many dynamic cuts to off-putting camera angles in videogame. That Ringu-flavored thing on stilts that shows up at the end is pretty neat too. With similar games like Lit, Fragile, and Fatal Frame IV getting published on the Wii, it’s all the more strange that Winter never got beyond the pre-production stages.
I’m not too bummed that Winter‘s been stalled, because I’ve already got my hands full with the “flashlight fun” games listed above, but it’s my understanding that I may not be in the majority here. Do you want a chance to play Winter? Then hell, sign the petition. Contrary to popular opinion, sometimes publishers actually pay attention to this kind of stuff.
