Though there are plenty of impressively powerful weapons in Tears of the Kingdom, none of them manage to outshine the iconic Master Sword. Unlike other swords in the game, this one will not shatter if it has been used too much. To wield the weapon with skill, it is important to know more about its stats and abilities.

Master Sword Durability in Tears of the Kingdom
There are several reasons why the Master Sword is so important. Link can use the sword to his heart’s content without it ever breaking. Nevertheless, it does still have limited durability, as it needs to recharge itself after heavy use.
The durability scores of weapons are hidden from players, though they have been dug up by data-miners. The Master Sword has a base durability score of 40. This means that it can perform 40 hits before it runs out of charge.
Charging takes ten minutes, which introduces an interesting cost/benefit analysis when using the sword. The weapon is ol’ reliable because it’ll always be in Link’s inventory once he’s obtained it. However, you want to make sure it’s charged up so it doesn’t lose power mid-combat. Hence, it’s sometimes smart to intentionally exhaust the sword and let it recharge if Link’s about to head into a battle where he’ll use it a lot.
Master Sword Damage in Tears of the Kingdom
Although the Master Sword gets huge amounts of attention in the main storyline, it is far from the strongest weapon in the game. On its own, it deals 30 damage. This can be increased with fusions. Consider fusing the sword with powerful parts like Silver Lynel Saber Horns, Silver Boss Bokoblin Horns, and Captain Construct IV Horns.
Master Sword Stats in Tears of the Kingdom
There are a few things to know about the Master Sword. It is a one-handed weapon, meaning that Link can hold his shield with his other hand. For a classic pairing, grab the Hylian Shield from the back of Hyrule Castle.
When Link is in the Depths, you may occasionally notice that the Master Sword glows. This means that there is Gloom around, which gives the sword a damage bonus, raising its attack to 45. Because of this, the Master Sword is usually best saved for venturing the Depths and slaying Gloom enemies.
The weapon gets the most use as a late-game item when players are dealing with the Depths or getting ready to square off with Ganon.
