A Sticky Situation
Hyrule has a dynamic weather system that Link has to pay attention to as he’s adventuring. Sometimes it’ll rain, and this makes it much harder to climb mountains and other wet surfaces. This is an annoying problem, though you can overcome it by making Sticky Elixirs using Sticky Lizards.
This guide will explain how to farm Sticky Lizards in Tears of the Kingdom.
Where to Farm Sticky Lizards in Tears of the Kingdom
Sticky Lizards are reptiles that typically pop up in caves, especially wet ones. Don’t forget to check wells too. To make it easier to find them, take a picture of one, then use the Purah Pad’s Sensor+ to alert Link when there are more lizards around.
A great early game location to start your hunt is Passeri Greenbelt Cave, which is located west of Lookout Landing at the following coordinates: -0513, 0126, 0022. There are monsters in the cave, so watch out.

These lizards aren’t too common, so don’t miss your chance to stock up when you see one. Have Link crouch and creep up on the Sticky Lizard before grabbing it when he is close enough. Consider giving Link armor that increases his stealth to help with this. If you see a Sticky Lizard above you, it can be killed and knocked down with a well-aimed arrow.
If you aren’t in the mood to go exploring caves, just head to Beedle at the South Akkala Stable. There, Link can purchase the lizards from him for 32 Rupees apiece. He only carries two at a time, so it’s a slow way to gather supplies.
What To Do With Sticky Lizards in Tears of the Kingdom
As previously mentioned, you can cook Sticky Lizards to make a slip-resistant elixir. Simply throw them in a pot with an appropriate monster part. They can also be gathered and given to one of the Great Fairies who will in turn upgrade his Froggy Armor.
If you want to cook Sticky Elixirs, also consider picking up Sticky Frogs. They appear in wet areas, including the Lanayru Great Spring.
