A reward reserved for the best explorers
In Tears of the Kingdom, Robbie instructs Link to take pictures of everything in Hyrule to complete the Purah Pad’s camera. This is no easy task, as there are dozens upon dozens of weapons, monsters, and objects to discover. Robbie does have a reward for those with enough patience, though it probably won’t impress most players.
This guide will show you how to complete Hyrule’s compendium and claim the reward from Robbie in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to complete the Hyrule Compendium
As is the case in Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom has a compendium that can be completed. To do this, you first need to unlock the Purah Pad’s camera. This involves visiting the Depths and finding Robbie.
Now you’re ready to start photographing. Whenever you spot an animal, monster, or object, take a picture of it. When it comes to monsters, keep your distance so that you can take your photo before you’re spotted.
As you take photos, you’ll have to remove images from your album, as it can only hold 64 images. Don’t hesitate to delete images, as it doesn’t affect your compendium. Different versions of monsters need to be photographed, so you won’t get away with taking just one picture of a Wizzrobe, for example.
If you aren’t in the mood to become an amateur photographer, you can also buy the compendium from Robbie. Head to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab if you plan on throwing money at the problem, but be warned that you’ll need a lot of Rupees, especially for the rarer items.
If you’re willing to cut corners, consider using a glitch to fill up Link’s pockets with enough Rupees to buy the whole compendium. Most glitches have been removed since v.1.2.0, but there are still ways to duplicate items in Tears of the Kingdom.
What is the reward for completing the Hyrule Compendium
Upon completing the compendium, travel back to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab and speak to Robbie. After Robbie verifies that you’ve completed the compendium, you’ll be given a cool piece of paraglider fabric. To equip it, visit Sayge at Kochi Dye Shop.
The reward is somewhat anti-climatic, though this may be a blessing in disguise, as it removes all pressure to take on this gargantuan task if you don’t want to. Robbie’s paraglider fabric is one of the better-looking ones, and it’ll ensure Link always look fashionable as he soars from mountain to mountain.
