Tadarok Shrine location and solution for Tears of the Kingdom (Totk)

the entrance to tadarok shrine in tears of the kingdom

Tadarok Shrine can be one of the more frustrating shrines inĀ Tears of the Kingdom.Ā Not only is the shrine itself difficult, but it is also fairly troublesome to find. We’ve covered everything you need to know to complete the shrine below, but we’ll start with how to find it.

How to find Tadarok Shrine inĀ Tears of the Kingdom

Tadarok Shrine is located in the Hyrule Field region of Hyrule. The closest fast travel point to the shrine for most players is Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. From there, you can glide directly east to the base of Mount Hylia. Don’t expect to spot it from the sky like most other shrines. Tadarok is located in the River of the Dead Waterfall Cave. You need to head to the waterfall to the east of Mount Hylia and enter the cave beside it.

Check the screenshot above for the shrine location (the blue marker) and, more importantly, our player indicator. The current location on the map above is the entrance to the cave on the west side of the waterfall. It’s pretty easy to miss, so use that marker as a guide. Once you’re in the cave, just follow the path to the shrine.

How to complete Tadarok Shrine

The first puzzle in Tadarok Shrine will give you a good idea of how the rest of the obstacles will go. You have a pool of water to cross that is electrified, and a large stone cube sat off to the side. To cross, you need to avoid the electricity. The safest way to avoid it is to use Ultrahand to remove the two metal balls from the pool. This will make the water safe.

Use Ultrahand again to place the cube in the pool, like in the picture above, and you can get to the other side. Technically you don’t need to place the cube there to cross, but you’ll need it in the next room anyway.

To the left side of the next room are some flames and a chute that dispenses a large block of ice. Since ice and fire don’t play nicely together, the block of ice will be reduced to nothing instantly each time it respawns. To stop this, you need to place the stone block from the previous pool so that it is completely stopping the flames, like in the picture above.

You also need the ice cube to be as large as possible, so time your blocking of the flames so that the cube drops untouched. It might take you a couple of tries to get the full cube. When you do, it should be about the size of the one in our picture.

After getting the cube, you can use your two blocks to reach the chest on the opposite side of the room. The ice block can be climbed, so place them like stairs to get to the chest. The chest contains a super strong Mighty Zonaite Shield.

After getting the chest, remove the electrified ball from the pool close to it and also take out the large metal block. Put the ice block in its place. Take the metal block and stone block and place them in the lava pool on the opposite side of the room from where the ice cube spawned. You need to space them perfectly so that you can jump to each one and reach the other side without touching the lava. See the picture above for the ideal placement.

The next section is a similar situation to the ice cube spawn. There’s a wooden box dropping from the shoot and landing directly in the flames coming from the wall. It’s not possible to block the flames this time, so you need to use Ultrahand to grab the flaming box and put it in the nearby water as quickly as you can. This will extinguish the flames and save the box.

Use Ultrahand again to send it to the main room across the lava pool but be careful not to drop it from a height, or it will break. Instead, place it gently on the ground.

Now it’s time to build a mighty tower. Take the two blocks from the lava and the wooden box and use Ultrahand to attach them all together into a tower with the wooden block on top and the stone block on the bottom. The stone block will stop the flames above the water with the ice block. Place the tower on the platform, like in the picture above, with it directly above the ice block in the water.

Then, simply stand on the ice block and use Ascend to get to the top of the tower. Grab your Light of Blessing, and Tadarok Shrine is complete!
