The FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2023 event is in full swing, bringing the usual fireworks and beachy vibes to the realm. The event is live now but ends Saturday, August 26, 2023, so wrap things up before it’s replaced with Final Fantasy XIV’s next celebration, The Rising.
How to Begin the FFXIV Moonfire Faire Quest
The 2023 Moonfire Faire begins in the Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (X: 11.5, Y:13.8). Speak to Mayaru Moyaru, and he’ll task you with the Allergic to Sunshine quest. Relatable, but we’re still headed to the beach.
Part ways with Mayraru and teleport to Costa del Sol. You’ll want to speak with Haermaga next (Eastern La Noscea X:36.3, Y:26.5). Finish up your conversations with the faire’s chairman, and he’ll eventually direct you to Lyonell.
I Am the Sunshine is the second and final quest before unlocking your rewards. The chain isn’t particularly long, but Lyonell will ask you make a few selections during the cutscenes, so some aren’t skippable. Finish up the conversations before returning to Haermaga one more time. The sentai phoenix fit is yours.
Moonfire Faire Rewards
This year, in the spirit of the phoenix, we’re getting our own sentai-inspired Pheonix Riser glam. Helping out Lyonell earns Warriors of Light both the Phoenix Riser Suit and Phoenix Riser Helmet. Thankfully, there’s nothing stuck behind silly gender locks here, either.
Upon completing the final quest, you’ll also unlock the achievement, Hot Bird Summer. There’s also the Moonfire Faire Vendor (Eastern La Noscea X:36.3, Y:26.6) hanging out nearby, ready to sell you the usual assortment of sparklers and party favors.
Bonus: The Jump Puzzle
First off, don’t panic. You don’t have to finish the Eorzean Nimble Warrior jump puzzle for any Moonfire Faire rewards. It’s just a cute challenge perfect for screenshots — or a frustrating hell for the clumsy and competitive; that’s me.
The FFXIV jump puzzle hosts a few helpful NPCs for players in need of assistance getting to the top. You can’t use mounts to fly in the area, so speak to the Faire Adventurer (Eastern La Noscea X:37.0, Y:28.3) to make your way to the first platform section. There’s another waiting for you on the ground nearby, so speak to them to proceed to the final zone.
Even if you have no interest in completing the obstacle course, it’s still worth checking out for the lore-enthused players. There’s a few familiar NPCs hanging out in the area, like Sicard, Emmanellain, Alpha, and Omega.
