In the Pokemon Presents that premiered August 8, the Pokemon Company announced a new animated miniseries set in Paldea entitled Pokemon: Paldean Winds. And now, the first episode of Paldean Winds has been released for free via the official Pokemon channel on YouTube.
The episode, which is entitled “Breathe Out,” clocks in at around 11 minutes in length and follows Ohara, a student at Naranja Academy. Ohara is a flutist who has been asked to create a video project celebrating the school’s legacy with fellow students Aliquis and Hohma. But, due to a staggering amount of pressure, Ohara journeys to Glaceado Mountain with her loyal Fuecoco companion in search of her treasure.
The series will have a total of four episodes and is produced by WIT STUDIO, who eagle-eyed anime fans will recognize as the team behind the first three seasons of Attack on Titan as well as one of the studios behind the smash hit SPY x FAMILY. In the Pokemon world, WIT STUDIO also produced the three-episode miniseries, Pokemon: Hisuian Snow.
I’d hate to spoil the episode too severely, but given it’s already dubbed into English, we now have official voices for several characters from Scarlet and Violet: Nemona, Arven, and Clavell. Nemona is voiced by Olivia Vidas, Arven by Henry Mason, and Clavell is voiced by Pete Zarustica. In terms of main cast, Ohara is voiced by Cat Protano, Aliquis by Paul Castro Jr., and Hohma by Caroline Spinola.
If you’d like to get on-board the Paldean Winds train while it’s still early, the first episode is available for free via YouTube. That is, presumably, where the remaining three episodes will be posted.
