You have found yourself deep belowground in Gergorio’s Waterway, but you’re not alone. There are Novistadors and Ganados at every turn. And they’re not the only things you can hunt. In Chapter 5 of the RE4 Remake Separate Ways DLC, you’ll run across the Lord of the Waterway request, and here’s how you can complete it.
This request needs a little bit of patience on your part. Ada is trapped in the winding waterway, following instructions left on the ground by our now-missing Luis Sera. The trail eventually leads to an arrow pointing into the deep water, but there’s a problem: it’s too deep, and Ada doesn’t feel like going for a swim. So, now what? And where is that damn Lord of the Waterway?
First step to complete the Lord of the Waterway request: drain the water
The Lord of the Waterway can’t be found where it’s dry, so you need to drop the water level. When you reach the ladder going down into the waterway, turn right and follow the path around until you get to a room. There’s a valve to drain the water. Be sure to grab that Biosensor Scope before you leave. Yes, it’s for exactly what you think it’s for. The map below shows you where to go:
With the water drained, go back to the ladder. You should instantly feel worried since the water level is still kind of high, just above Ada’s knees. That’s right, the swimming Novistadors are here! Watch out for their glowing eyes, or use the Biosensor Scope on your rifle to see them more easily in the water. Slowly head down the waterway and keep an eye out for movement on the water’s surface. There are Ganados walking around, so take them out as well.
You might now be wondering where to find this Lord of the Waterway so you can complete this request. The Lord is, well, just a big fish that’s swimming around in that area. I found the fish near the end of the waterway at the entrance to the cave:
What do you get for completing the Separate Ways DLC Lord of the Waterway request?
Turning in the request gives you two types of awards. The first is the quest reward, which sells at a whopping eight spinel. And selling the fish will earn you 8,000 pesetas. It’s not a huge amount, but it’s better than a kick in the shin. If you haven’t at this point in your game, you should consider spending that spinel on something special.
