Squanch Games’ High on Knife add-on (a DLC for High on Life) brings in a new storyline and an extra zone, which are completely separate from the core campaign. Here’s how long it is, and how much content you can expect out of the DLC.
High on Knife is several hours long if you’re just aiming for the main story
At a breezy hour and a half to two hours, High on Knife is about what you’d expect from a smaller DLC expansion for High on Life.
The main storyline involves the player character (two years after the events of the original game) helping out his bud and melee weapon Knifey: as he attempts to track down a package on the planet Peroxis, and tries to make contact with his family. You’ll spend your time interacting with the odd denizens of said planet, eventually making your way to an Amazon-like corporate entity for a showdown.
You can squeeze an extra hour out of it if you go for 100%
Once the DLC ends, you’ll be whisked away back to your house (the main hub of the original), with the option to go back to planet X and finish up all of your missed connections. Here are the things you can do in the “endgame” if you missed them the first time around
- Grab all of the collectible packages from each area (there are three zones with 18, 21, and 19 packages respectively)
- See the local sights
- Learn to play cards
- Become a Peroxosquash master
- Race the fastest slug
That’s it! You decide if it’s worth the plunge.
