Spider-Man 2 provides a pretty cinematic experience, and you can enhance how cool your battles are by unlocking skills for Miles and Peter. To do this, you’ll need to collect plenty of XP. Fortunately, this is not a problem, as there are several ways to score XP.
The most obvious method is to complete the main story missions. This will certainly score you plenty of XP, but you’ll still need more if you plan on fully upgrading both Miles and Peter. With this guide, you’ll learn all the clever ways you can accumulate XP fast and easily in Spider-Man 2.
Complete missions and side activities
There’s plenty to do if you want to explore New York City. However, you shouldn’t neglect the main story, as that’s when you’ll score the bulk of your XP. In addition to being fun and action-packed, the main missions also advance Peter and Miles’ stories.
Don’t forget to do side missions as well. Most of these involve solving crimes as you web-swing through the city. As a reward for your efforts, you’ll gain plenty of that coveted XP, though it won’t be as much as a main story mission.
While you’re jumping between missions, solve any crimes you see occurring around the city. This requires you to not use fast travel, but it’s worth it for a quick burst of combat and some XP to help you level up. Some of the crimes involve stopping arsonists, halting high-speed getaways, and thwarting robberies.
Web-swinging = XP
To get around New York, you’ll be swinging from spider webs. The system was present in 2018’s Spider-Man, and it has been improved in Spider-Man 2 where you can use a wingsuit and ride air currents to give you greater speed and height.
Perform tricks while you web-swing, and you’ll be rewarded with XP. You can do awesome tricks by pressing the square button and tilting the right analog stick to execute various aerial stunts. It’s not a lot of XP, but it adds up fast.
Find collectibles
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man 2 has a dizzying amount of collectibles. It can feel like a chore to find them all, but they do come with some rewards. In addition to tokens, you also score a bit of XP to help you level up. With so many collectibles around, grabbing all of them can boost your XP drastically.
Though it is exciting to level up, there’s no need to rush through Spider-Man 2. Insomniac has crafted a jaw-droppingly intricate depiction of New York, and you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t slow down to admire it all.
