In Spider-Man 2, New York is teeming with villains. Defeating them all will take a combination of web-slinging, gadgets, and combat skills. Combat can be simple if you want it to be, but by integrating combos, you’ll mow down hordes quicker in addition to having much flashier gameplay.
There are dozens of combos to learn, but you won’t need to memorize all of them if you know the key ones. This guide will show you the most important combos you need to be pulling out during combat and traversal in Spider-Man 2.
Best combos in Spider-Man 2 (PS5)
You’ll be using combos most frequently during combat encounters. Spamming the square button will get you through most low-level enemies, but you’ll eventually need to learn new skills. The first combo you should learn is the Basic Ground Combo which just involves tapping the square button four times. It’ll send your foe flying back, giving you a little more space.
You should also learn these combos:
- Dodge Under (square, circle) – This move will let you slide through your opponent’s legs. Very useful when your opponent has a shield.
- Web Whip (hold triangle, then tap R1) – Web Whip uses Spider-Man’s spider web to disarm your opponent. It’s very handy when you’re being gunned at from different directions. You’ll have to unlock this skill first
You don’t have to keep your feet on the ground. Get some air time – your enemies hate it!
- Air Launch (hold square) – Once your enemy has their feet off the ground, you have the advantage. When your enemy is airborne, you can continue to beat them up.
- Basic Air Combo (square, square, square, square while in the air) – When your enemy is in the air, hit them with a Basic Air Combo to knock some sense into them.
Typically, you’ll be dealing with a horde of enemies. Consequently, you’ll need to clear some space for yourself when you’re crowded and pull enemies in when they’re far away.
You can keep control of your foes with these combos:
- Web Strike Follow-Up (triangle, square) – With this move, you can strike your foes after bringing them closer to you.
- Leap Off (square, cross) – To put some distance between you and your enemies, use Leap Off.
- Ground Strike (square + cross while in the air) – This move will knock your enemy back to the ground. The shockwave produced can hurt nearby baddies as well.
If you’re finding combat too hard, you can always crank down the difficulty. There are four difficulty levels available, including Friendly Neighborhood mode which makes it impossible for you to get knocked out during combat.
