Bizarre one-button microgame collection Super 56 launches today

There are plenty of butts, I promise.

Whispergames and Onion Soup Interactive have announced that the long-anticipated microgame masher Super 56 is finished cooking and is out the door. It’s available on PC starting today.

I tried out Super 56 during last February’s Steam Next Fest and came away impressed. It was scheduled to hit Early Access that same month but was delayed. The team has now decided to completely skip Early Access and just drop the piping-hot finished product right into your lap.

Super 56 is a WarioWare-like rush of microgames. As the name implies, there’s 56 of the little experiences, but the twist is that you control them with only one button. This one button does a lot of heavy lifting, as the short games run the gamut between racing and archery. Similar to WarioWare, it’s filled with some extremely unhinged humor and nostalgia-tickling references to older games.

I’ve been playing it before release, and it’s fantastic. A full review should be coming in the next few days. I just wish I could get the theme out of my head.

You won’t be taking a big chance if you don’t wait for my review. Super 56 is available on Steam for the reasonable price of $6.99. Those butts aren’t going to shoot themselves.
