In Spider-Man 2, you face some of the most threatening villains Marvel has to throw. Peter and Miles can help each other out to make battles easier, but you need to upgrade your Suit Tech, improve your Gadgets, and purchase new suits if you want to be powerful enough to keep New York safe.
There are a few forms of currency to juggle as you improve Miles and Peter’s gear. In addition to your regular XP, you’ll also be collecting City Tokens, Hero Tokens, and Tech Parts. Read on to learn how to acquire these valuable resources in Spider-Man 2.
How to get Tech Parts and Rare Tech Parts in Spider-Man 2
Tech Parts are used to purchase new suits and upgrade your Gadgets. For some of the more valuable items, you’ll need Rare Tech Parts which, as the name suggests, are a bit harder to come by. You can acquire Tech Parts from the following sources:
- Crimes
- EMF experiments
- Spider-Bots
- Hunter blinds
- FNSM requests
If you’re looking for Rare Tech Parts, try the following:
- EMF experiments
- Prowler stashes
- Unidentified Targets
- Hunter blinds
If you’re out exploring the city, you may occasionally find stashes of Tech Parts and Rare Tech Parts hidden throughout the city. This is why you should avoid overusing fast travel, as New York has plenty of treasures to discover.
How to get Hero Tokens in Spider-Man 2
Like Tech Parts, you’ll use Hero Tokens to upgrade your gear and make Spider-Man more formidable. They’re a little harder to earn than City Tokens, but you can acquire them from the following sources:
- The Flame
- Hunter Bases
- Cultural Museum
- Mysteriums
The quickest route for acquiring resources
You’re advised to try all activities, especially if you want to 100% complete the game. If you’re in a rush, or you’re trying to upgrade something specific, try these tips:
- Hero Tokens – Go for Mysteriums. The challenges are short, and the better you perform, the more Hero Tokens you’ll score.
- Tech Parts – You can make Tech Crates appear on your map by unlocking the All Seeing perk from the Traversal upgrades of your Suit Tech. This makes it far easier to find the blue crates.
Save New York, and you’ll be rewarded with the tokens and parts you need to become the ultimate Spider-Man. Don’t forget to spend your resources on both Miles and Peter to ensure they’re both constantly improving.
