Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 sure is an explosive spectacle to experience, so it makes sense some may want to replay missions after they’re finished. But once you get through a quest, is it possible to do a rerun?
Spider-Man: Miles Morales included the feature, allowing players to pick and enjoy any previously completed story mission after the main storyline was over. Why? There wasn’t really any benefit beyond re-experiencing story missions. However, the option existed for those who wanted to do it all over again, but with style.
Unfortunately, Spider-Man 2 doesn’t include the option to replay missions. Much like the original, once you finish a mission, that’s it. The only way to experience the main story at the moment is to play it again from a fresh save file. But not all hope is lost, friends.
Spider-Man 2 will get an update to let you replay missions soon
According to developer Insomniac’s community director, the feature is on its way and alongside a New Game Plus mode. In a Twitter conversation, James Stevenson, responding to a fan, mentioned the developer is “working on an update for [mission replay and NG+].” The company plans for New Game Plus mode to arrive before 2024. It’s not certain if mission replay will show up at the same time, but here’s hoping.
Keep in mind that there are still two months before the end of the year. The features could arrive six weeks from now or next week. Chances are, we won’t see either option arrive until late November or sometime in December. The original game didn’t get it for roughly six weeks, but it was received well. It came with some much-needed fixes, combat rebalancing, and better Photo Mode options. That is to say, whenever the two features arrive, they’ll include other things worth celebrating.
