Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is rich with secrets and Easter eggs. Some are small, while others are pretty hard to miss. The latter certainly encompasses the Baxter Building, the headquarters of the Fantastic Four, which you can find while swinging around in Spider-Man 2.
You can find the Fantastic Four headquarters at the northeastern corner of the Hell’s Kitchen district. The closest landmark is the imposing Oscorp Tower, which I suggest climbing if you want to locate the Baxter Building more easily in Spider-Man 2.
Why? Well, probably because it has a massive, blue number ‘4’ written on what appears to be a rooftop helicopter pad. It’s not very subtle, but much easier to spot from high (very high) up in the air.
You should direct your attention to the logo when you arrive. Something about it leads me to think there may be more here than a nod to Marvel’s First Family.
There’s something interesting you can find on the Baxter Building in Spider-Man 2
It seems the Avengers are going to have some new neighbors soon. And by soon, I mean they seem to be literally in the process of moving into the area. Land on top of the building, and you’ll see what I mean. There are buckets of paint along with rollers around the logo, which isn’t yet fully painted in. Hazard markers are situated around the landing pad, and there’s an orange warning sign about the place being a work area. It’s unlikely that the Fantastic Four are in New York City during the events of Spider-Man 2, considering they don’t show up during the big fights, but they do seem to be preparing the Baxter Building for their arrival.
Is this a hint that the group will appear in some near future DLC or potential sequel? There’s certainly a chance. Developer Insomniac Games already confirmed that its upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine will exist in the same universe as Spider-Man 2 (Earth-1048). We won’t know for a while if any other super friends are destined for the same universe, or if they’ll eventually play together. Until then, we’ll have to wait to hear more.
