Oh snap, Activision — Harmonix are stealing your edge. Today, Harmonix and PDP (the guys behind the Xbox 360 motion controller) announced the retail release of a new kick pedal for Rock Band that comes packaged with a double bass adaptor for two-pedal play. And get this: it’s compatible with Guitar Hero: Metallica.
The suggested price of the two-piece set, “The Rock Band Kick Pedal With Double Bass Adaptor,” is $24.99. In addition to working with Activision’s latest Guitar Hero iteration, the double bass action will translate to Rock Band, Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour. It’s also universally compatible with all console iterations of Rock Band.
This doesn’t seem like that bad of a deal, especially if you’re looking to pummel the bass like Lars and don’t feel like committing to yet another plastic drum set. What do you guys think? Are you metal enough to go out and buy this?
