Larian shares how many have already cleared Baldur’s Gate 3 on its new Honour Mode

It’s truly an Honour.

Baldur’s Gate 3 received its Patch 5 update this week, adding a host of new features including the grueling endurance run called Honour Mode. Today, Larian Studios shared how many have cleared the challenge thus far, and it’s quite humbling.

In a series of stat infographics, Larian shows that 464 parties have finished Baldur’s Gate 3 Honour Mode. A number in the hundreds might seem large, but that’s out of roughly 158,000 Honour Mode playthroughs that have kicked off thus far. And just as importantly, over 34,000 of those runs have already been brought to an end.

It seems like Honour Mode is living up to its goal of being an even-greater challenge for Baldur’s Gate 3 players. Alongside enforcing a single save file and upping the general challenge of BG3, the mode adds an arsenal of Legendary Actions for its bosses. Remember those tough story bosses in BG3? They get brand-new moves with even more potential to do damage, in a mode where a party wipe puts your file in the dumpster. (You can still technically continue it in Custom Mode, but c’mon, we’re all gunning for the golden D20.)

It’s an impressive feat. Those who have already cleared Baldur’s Gate 3 in Honour Mode—and in a week at that—have certainly earned their bragging rights.

Other stats for Baldur’s Gate 3 fans to pore over

Larian also shared some new and updated stats on various fronts, some of which have changed over the last few infographics.

Paladin remains the top-pick for class, though Elf has now become the most-picked race for a starting character. And custom creations are popular indeed, with a whopping 94% of players creating a custom character, spending 8.196 years combined in the creator.

On the Origins side, Gale is the most popular, with Astarion right behind him. For the romantics, Shadowheart is the most popular romantic interest, with Karlach and Lae’zel following after.

It’s fun to see these updates, especially as a new batch of players is likely to start Baldur’s Gate 3 up once it finally launches on Xbox. The massive RPG is up for multiple Game Awards and due to make an announcement at the show as well, so expect even more Baldur’s Gate 3 chatter as the year winds to a close.
