Capcom on PC: Resident Evil 5, SFIV, Bionic Commando

We tip our hats to Capcom for all of the PC love. They’ve been pretty serious about bringing their games to Windows PCs, and that comitment continues with some of their biggest franchises, all coming this summer.

Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV, and Bionic Commando are hitting the PC starting in July of this year. Bionic Commando and Street Fighter will hit first, with Resident Evil coming later in the year. All three will be optimized for the platorm, and will sport PC-specific features. You’ll see the games on both retail shelves and on Capcom’s own e-store.

PC-only perks:

  • Bionic Commando will support higher resolutions and have remappable controls for controller or keyboard. Both DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 will be supported.
  • Resident Evil 5 will take advantage of NVIDIA’s GeForce 3D Vision technology, which we’ve seen used in other games like Mirror’s Edge on the PC.
  • Street Fighter IV will look even better in high resolutions, with new shaders based on the artistic trailers released earlier, changing the visual style to settings like “watercolor,” “posteriziation” and “sumi-e ink” styles.

Wow, Capcom! Way to take care of PC gamers, guys. A high-resolution watercolored Street Fighter IV sounds amazing to me — I can’t wait to see it.

PC gamers: which of these do you plan on picking up?
