There are dozens of interesting weapons to get in Elden Ring, but if there’s one you need to know how to get, it’s the Blasphemous Blade. It’s a must-have if you are into faith or strength builds.
How to get the Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring
This is a weapon that you get after defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, at Volcano Manor. Upon defeating Rykard, he will drop an item called the Remembrance of the Blasphemous.
Take this Remembrance to Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold. Trade this to her for the Blasphemous Blade.
Blasphemous Blade build
The Blasphemous Blade is a very strong weapon because it has life steal, innate fire damage, and can be flexible in some builds. This weapon is more of a mobbing weapon. Its ability, Taker’s Flame, is also a high-tier choice for clearing mobs of enemies in one cast.
This weapon has a handful of unique abilities and works well if you have a build that focuses on Strength, Dexterity, and mostly Faith. It doesn’t look like much when it’s unranked, having a D rank across the three aforementioned stats.
However, once you use Somber Smithing Stones to get it to +10, the scaling then becomes C-rank for Strength and Dexterity while Faith is at B.
The flexibility comes in the fact that you can use this sword in heavy builds that focus on Incantations. Between using most of your FP on Seals, the Blasphemous Blade is mostly a melee weapon that benefits from stat scaling. If you’re using this on a strength build, then save the ability for mobs.
If you are going to utilize this weapon, you may want to equip an Arsenal Charm to prevent heavy-rolls. You can also utilize an Amber Medallion or Green Turtle Talisman for better stamina management. This is a heavy weapon, so you want to take stamina and weight into consideration.
You can also use a Fire Scorpion Charm, though you do make yourself even more vulnerable to more damage. This also affects the fire during the Taker’s Flames ability. So, if you do want to use this charm, consider using Spells that also benefit Fire like Flame, Grant Me Strength.
The aforementioned life steal mechanic works when you kill an enemy or when you hit an enemy with the Taker’s Flames ability. You receive 4% of your health back per enemy killed with a base addition of 40 health. As for the ability, it recovers 10% of your HP plus another 150 per enemy hit.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where a bunch of enemies are swarming you, try lining them up and casting this ability. You can recover at least 50% of your health with a proper cast. Taker’s Flames shoots a blanket of fire that spans the width of two of your bodies.
Since the Blasphemous Blade also deals Fire damage, it’s ideal against fleshy enemies or anything that isn’t armored. Luckily, the weapon also deals physical damage, so it’s a bit more versatile in that regard.
