Crystal Marrow in Genshin Impact are strange stones that don’t require your characters to mine. They can help ascend Aloy and Sayu to help them reach greater heights.
Crystal Marrow Genshin Impact locations
You’ll find Crystal Marrow in two locations within the Inazuma region: Yashiori Island and Kannazuka. Most are available to pick up from the former. They’re scattered all over the rocky formations of Yashiori Island.
I found the best spots were the most northwest and the most southeast sections of the island. In some areas of this location, you’ll need to climb to reach individual Crystal Marrow. You may need to put more effort into the process than other Genshin Impact resources like Naku Weed or Henna Berries. On the bright side, you won’t need to strike it with a heavy sword like other stone-based resources.
Unfortunately, you can’t access this Ascension resource Crystal Marrow until you’ve finished both the Mondstadt and Liyue storylines. You’ll also need a boat, which you’ll acquire after finishing the introductory story quests of Inazuma. It’s needed to travel to Yashiori Island and Kannazuka.
What is Crystal Marrow used for?
Crystal Marrow is needed to ascend two different Genshin Impact characters: Aloy and Sayu. Future heroes or villains, however, may need it too, especially if they’re from the Inazuma region.
To ascend Sayu, for example, you’ll need the following amount of Crystal Marrow:
- 1st – 3
- 2nd – 10
- 3rd – 20
- 4th – 30
- 5th – 45
- 6th – 60
Sayu will also need a resource called Whooperflower Nectar, which is taken from the creature of the same name.
