After completing the Grasslands and Kalm region in FF7 Rebirth, you progress through the Mythril Mines and end up in a new region: Junon. Junon is full of its own points of interest including Remnawave towers, a Protorelic, a new Summon Materia, and more. However, before you can dive into any of its new content, you really want to get yourself the Chocobo in the region, Belle. Unfortunately, Piko stays in the Grasslands, but you’ll need Belle anyway to climb walls to access areas only she can reach. Here is where you can find Belle the Chocobo in the Junon region in FF7 Rebirth.
Where is Belle the Chocobo in Junon?
You can find Belle the Chocobo in the western part of the Junon region, before reaching the actual city of Junon. Belle is located on a small little cliffside that juts out over the ocean to the west.
If you look at the map above, Belle’s location is circled in orange. For those who have just entered Junon, from the Mythril Mine, you want to head north down the road and then directly west to reach Belle.
The Seabreeze Tower is one of five Remnawave Towers in the Junon region, and will also unveil the location of where you can find Belle as indicated by two Chocobo footprints.
How to catch Belle the Chocobo in FF7 Rebirth
You’ll notice Belle is protected by a few more Chocobos than Piko was. And, on top of that, there isn’t really the tall grass from the Grasslands that you can rely on to hide in. However, you can make use of the powered rail carts on the rail tracks to hide behind and stay out of sight. Fortunately, Chocobo’s don’t seem to get spooked by things randomly moving, unless it’s a person.
Rail Cart #1
Move up to the first rail cart right in front of you and hold Triangle at the switch to turn it on. It will slowly start moving forward on the track. You want to stick behind it as it moves along the track. This will get you past the first two Chocobos. Once the rail cart comes to a stop, you’ll see another switch right in front of you.
Rail Cart #2
Press and hold Triangle to flip the switch, then immediately look to your left. You’ll notice another rail cart with a green light slowly moving along the track in front of you. Head around to the left. Eventually, the rail cart will come to a stop right in front of you to the left.
Pick up the rocks on the ground here, then position yourself behind the rail cart on your left. Toss a rock and hit the switch you just flipped before, which will make the rail cart you are behind start moving forward again. Move alongside it keeping the rail cart between you and the Chocobos so they cannot see you.
Final Rail Cart
There are more rocks here so grab some of them then quickly get behind the final rail cart which is located just to your left. In the distance and slightly to the right you will see the final switch. Chuck a rock at it then quickly move alongside this final cart as it loops around towards Belle.
These Chocobos are stubborn and won’t be distracted by throwing a rock, so don’t even try! Just keep the rail cart between you and them as it makes its way all around the track. As you approach the final yellow Chocobo, note that it is to your right, so you will want to swap to the other side of the rail cart in time so that it doesn’t see you.
Continue on to the right side of the rail cart as it approaches Belle, and wait until it moves all the way behind her. Now’s your chance! Sneak up behind Belle and hold Triangle to catch her, finally unlocking Chocobo Riding in the Junon region!
It can be tricky maneuvering around the rail cart and these final Chocobos. But thankfully, if you are spotted, you can hold Triangle to Retry from Checkpoint which is right at this final loop.
Finding Belle will also complete the Chocobo Intel: Birds of the Mountain intel that Chadley is looking for, granting you 10 Regional Data points for Junon.
