How to flatter the woman in the Willow in Disney Dreamlight Valley

I’m not sure she needs any flattering.

The Willow tree in Disney Dreamlight Valley where Mother Gothel lives.

The Lovely Monsters Star Path event is well underway in Disney Dreamlight Valley, and one of the later duties will ask you to ‘flatter the woman in the Willow’. At first, this can be a particularly confusing request, but it’s not too difficult to manage once you figure out the riddle.

Think about it – who do we know who lives to be flattered, loves receiving gifts, and happens to live in a frustratingly unmovable tree? If you said Mother Gothel, you’re correct.

In order to complete this request, you’ll need to give Mother Gothel five of her favorite gifts. Sadly, once you’ve gifted a villager their three favorite daily gifts, you can’t give any more until the next day, which means that this duty will take you at least two days to complete.

There are two ways for you to find out Mother Gothel’s favorite gifts:

  • Find her within the Valley, chase after her and talk to her. Tell her that you have something for her, then in the bottom of the inventory window which pops up, you’ll see her three requested gifts of the day.
  • Alternatively, open up the menu and navigate to ‘Collection’. Here, open up the Character tab and scroll until you find Mother Gothel. Hovering over her will show you the gifts that she wants at the bottom of the screen.

Now that you know what she wants, you’ll have to go out into the Valley and find the items. Take them back to Mother Gothel, and then come back tomorrow to find out what she wants all over again.
