Helldivers 2: Where to find and how to kill a Devastator?

Don’t forget to quell the Automatons!

Helldivers 2 Devastator

If you want to kill a Devastator in Helldivers 2 for a Personal Order, you may want to stay away from the bug planets for a bit. Divert your attention toward the eastern front and go from there.

What is a Devastator in Helldivers 2?

A Devastator is a mid-tier enemy that has a heavy upper body with two red shoulder guards. It also has a skull with red glowing eyes as a head with a gear wheel on its back.

They appear in Automaton-occupied planets on the east.

Where to find a Devastator

To find a Devastator, you have to play a mission at the Medium difficulty (3) and higher. The mission type does not matter because it will eventually spawn within enemy clusters.

However, these enemies will become a lot more common as you raise the difficulty. Raising the difficulty will make it harder to kill since more things will come at you, so tackling higher difficulties with a better loadout or with a squad is advised.

How to kill a Devastator

To kill a Devastator, you have to shoot it in the head. Since they will mostly come at you from the front, that is your best bet. You can also use explosives and call in your Stratagems to soften them up.

Using the highest of your firepower to deal with them is not advised since they aren’t as dangerous as a Hulk or a Tank in the Automaton faction. Only use your power weapons if you have ammunition and resources to spare.

If hitting their heads is hard to do, you can also shoot their right-hand weapon to disable ranged attacks. It’ll cause them to run up to you and melee you. So, as they get close, you can dodge behind them and shoot their exposed backs. You should only do this if you don’t have other robots gunning at you from afar.
