Genshin Impact and the Discovery Channel are collaborating with a Teyvat Nature Discovery Tour to celebrate the beauty of the natural world. To start us off, we’ve got a strange but endearing nature documentary, and it looks like there will be more events to come as part of the collaboration.
“Voices of Nature” mini documentary
Genshin Impact released a short 9-minute documentary on their YouTube channel where various ecosystems of Earth speak to the viewer in first person. I’m not sure what I was expecting when Genshin first announced a collaboration with the Discovery Channel, but it definitely wasn’t Jon Snow from Game of Thrones speaking to me as the ocean.
The full list of featured voices includes:
- Kit Harington as the ocean
- Lily Cole as the coral reef
- Max Djenohan as the snowy mountains
- Kate Humble as the forest
- Ed Stafford as the desert
The film ends by flashing some concerning statistics about how these unique ecosystems are being threatened by human activity. For example, according to Conservation International, ocean plastic is estimated to outweigh all of the ocean’s fish by the year 2050.
“Discover Traces, Explore Nature” web event
Starting March 16, a new web event will be held for Genshin Impact players. We already know Kaveh is the spokesperson for the collaboration, but this web event will also feature Beidou, Kokomi, Albedo, Tighnari, and Candace. These characters will guide us through the various ecosystems of Teyvat.
The web event will offer Primogem rewards as well as a rare Serenitea Pot Furnishing called “Let the Desert Bloom.” This Furnishing appears to be a brown hiker’s backpack in the Sumeru style. It was previously only available to Chinese players through a collaboration with Alipay, and this is the first time it will be distributed to global players. This web event may be your only chance to get it though, so if you really want a backpack item in your teapot, mark your calendar for March 16 when the web event drops.
Offline Benefit Sale
If you’re more interested in physical merchandise, there will be several pop-up stores around Europe and Asia selling various Genshin goodies. Revenue from these sales will be donated to the rainforest conservation organization Cool Earth.

It’s nice to see HoYoverse leveraging its massive reach to raise awareness for a meaningful cause. There’s no denying the beauty of Teyvat’s in-game environments, and HoYoverse has not been shy about acknowledging Genshin Impact’s real-life inspirations. Maybe these collaboration events will help Travelers appreciate the real world, too.
…I should touch some grass today.
