Minecraft Bedrock Edition’s Marketplace allows you to access high-quality content, from custom worlds and skin packs to resource packs that completely change how your game looks. With the introduction of the Minecraft Marketplace Pass, you’ll be able to access hundreds of pieces of content with one monthly subscription.
What is the Minecraft Marketplace Pass?
The Minecraft Marketplace Pass is a Bedrock Edition-exclusive pass allowing you to access over 150 content packs using one monthly subscription. The content you’ll be able to use includes the following:
- Worlds, including adventure maps and survival spawns
- Skin Packs
- Texture Packs
- Mashup packs that include custom sounds, models, textures, and more creator-made features
In other words, rather than buying individual content pieces, you’ll receive a bundle of maps, skins, and resource packs that change monthly, giving you hundreds of new features per month. You’ll also still have access to regular Marketplace content, but have this as an opportunity to try out over 100 items for one price.
How much does the Minecraft Marketplace Pass cost?
The Minecraft Marketplace Pass price will differ slightly depending on your region, with its US price being $3.99 per month. You can initially start a 30-day free trial, and once the trial ends, the price will change to a monthly paid subscription.
Similar to services like Xbox Game Pass, you’ll have to keep your subscription active to continue playing your Marketplace Pass content, including playing on its worlds and using skin packs that come with the service. The exception is a set of Character Creator items, which will stay connected to your account forever once you redeem them.
What version is the Minecraft Marketplace Pass available on?
The Minecraft Marketplace Pass is exclusive to Bedrock Edition, meaning Java players will not have access to this service or the content it offers. You’ll need a fully updated Minecraft Bedrock Edition version featuring the Minecraft Marketplace. The 30-day free trial is only available to Bedrock Edition players, with existing Realms Plus members and Switch users excluded from the offer.
Minecraft Bedrock Edition is available on multiple platforms such as Windows 10 and 11, the Nintendo Switch, and consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can also play and access the Minecraft Bedrock Edition Marketplace on iOS and Android.
What about Minecraft Realms Plus?
Although the pre-existing Realms Plus behaves much like the new Minecraft Marketplace Pass, Realms Plus includes a server for you and your friends to play for an increased price. That way, if you want to play on maps with others, you’ll have a server supported by Mojang. If you prefer playing on worlds alone, the Marketplace Pass allows this for a lower price.
